Would you like to find a better means to boost your online sales? A technique that does not involve any great economic investments? In this text I am going to propose that PLR products might be a good way to bring about just that.
E books are electronic files that can be read on any computer or electronic e-reader. Just as in the case of printed books, ebooks come in different shapes and forms, in terms of their content. For instance, there are ebooks on anthropology, animal training, and dating advice.
One thing that you have to dwell on before doing any creative work on your planned e book is this: who would be interested in such an e-book? What I am trying to communicate here is that you have to figure out whether or not there is a substantial market for that new e-book of yours. And in order to find that out, you have to do some appropriate keyword analysis. For if there is no market, you will never be able to make any real money.
Assuming now that you have come up with a great (provisional) title for your ebook, and confirmed that this new e-book has a substantial market for it, how shall you put it together? Anyone who has created e books knows that putting one together one is not easy, and that it takes considerable time. Not only is there a lot of text to be written, but there is almost certainly a lot of research that you have to do before you can prepare the text so that it becomes correct and useful.
PLR Products
It is here that PLR content (i.e. articles, e books, etc.) may be useful. "PLR" stands for Private Label Rights, and may most commonly be understood as the right not only to take a given text (article, ebook, etc.) and change it to into whatever text you would like, but also to be the right to put your own name on it when you are finished editing it.
If you have never used PLR products to create new content, you should give it a try. Once you do, you will understand why so many writers like it so much for their online businesses. Many writers not only make their ebooks this way, but also use PLR materials to create massive websites with many well-written articles. Using high-quality PLR material is a great way to establish you as an expert in your niche market.
So then, how can you make money with PLR ebooks? Well, there are, naturally, many ways. But here are three methods that may be interesting if you are planning on starting up your own home-based online business with e books: (1) Sell the ebook on your website; (2) Give the ebook away for free; (3) Give the ebook away as a bonus.
1. Sell the Ebook and Make Money
The most obvious idea would perhaps be to put up your e-book on your website or blog in order to sell it for a certain retail price. The price may of course differ, depending on whether it is a small ebook or a full-size one. If you have an ebook that has only 20 pages the price may be something like $7 or $17; but if you have a bigger ebook (100-250 pages), it would not be unheard of selling it for something like $57 or $67.
But don't sell it too cheap (unless it is part of a multi-campaign, in which you are aiming to promote a much more expensive ebook or ecourse, etc.); customers do relate price to product image and quality.
2. Give Your PLR E-book Away for Free
Giving away a PLR ebook for free may be an excellent way to get visitors to sign up on your autoresponder newsletter list. That, in itself, is worth a lot of money, assuming that you have other products (e.g. ebooks) or services (e.g. education) that you are planning to market to them.
After having read your free ebook, and after having read your free information that you are sending your subscribers regularly as being members of the newsletter list, they will gradually come to respect you as an expert. You can then start selling your other (more comprehensive, more expensive) ebooks and ecourses that are in the same niche.
3. Give Your PLR Ebook Away as a Bonus
Another great way to use an ebook for is to present it as a bonus when you sell some other product. Note here, though, that some PLR e books may not permit that you give them away as a bonus, even though you have thoroughly rewritten them. So please be careful with the licence of each particular PLR product: check it one more time, just to be sure!
So when you, for example, sell your new video product, you could offer also your e-book about the same, or neighbouring, topic. Or you can use your bonus ebook to create a bundle for someone else's product. In any case, the main product and the bonus e-book must typically be in the same or neighbouring niche, or be strongly linked in some other way, in order for the bonus to actually work as "added value". If perceived by the potential client as an "added value", it may very well be the difference between him acquiring your main product or not.
Conclusion
It is not unusual to read in assorted articles on private label rights products that it is "uncomplicated" to tailor them into your own products. I would, however, be reluctant to say that. I would rather say that you have to put in substantial time and energy in order to write a first-class e-book. Your aim, as a serious business man or woman, should be to create a quality product that both you and your customers are pleased with.
So when you reword a PLR e book or PLR article, you may try to improve it not only in a stylistic sense to make its voice "sound more like you", but also to adjust and expand on facts, figures, data, illustrations, and links. This will ensure that your e-book will be more unique and of better quality, and that it may also be better positioned in relation to all of your other e-books and products that you are offering on your website.
