The entire college admission process is grueling and psychologically taxing, but little is worse off than writing the personal statement for college applications. At first, you may think that the personal statement for college is going to be easy; just sit down and write a few words about what inspires you, or what you want to accomplish. Personal statements for college are more than just that. You see, the fact is that when you are in high school, you probably have not much to do as far as writing is concerned. You could easily breeze through on the five paragraph essay, and write an endless series of meaningless papers, getting A's, as well as they are properly organized and formatted.
When you set to create your personal statement for college, you suddenly are not in that world anymore, and you know it deep inside. Seriously, no one from admissions wants to read another essay about how much someone was inspired by Gandhi, or Martin Luther King Jr. No one is interested to read your personal statement about how you played your football with your friends. No matter what you write, the chance is that they have heard it all so often before, and they are surely going to hold that fact against you.
This is why so many people choose to opt for help in writing their personal statement for college. For me, it was no problem. My mother was an award winning writer, and I could ask her for her feedback any time I wanted (I still can, as a matter of fact) and as often as I want to. Though we do not always agree, her invaluable input is always intelligent and well thought out. She gave me alot of support on my personal statement for college. In my opinion, though, there is no real alternative to personal, face to face feedback from someone whom you trust on your personal statement for college write up.
